This new “sandbox” mode is the ideal tool to learn and progress in mastering the workings of the game.
Moreover, this mode is accessible from the home page without even having to participate in a game!

Tried it out. It has some uses, but there is a specific use that it seems to be lacking: Map painting. I would like to be able to select a province (region?) for a nation without putting a unit on it.
Unless of course, you CAN do that, but I don’t see how.
